After being engaged for a few years we had finally decided to set a date for our wedding. It was very exciting and daunting to think of all the things we had to plan. The venue, food, who the celebrant would be, invitations dresses, shoes, flowers and that’s just the beginning…

When it came to choosing a photographer we wanted someone who produced quality pictures and was something we could afford, as we all know weddings aren’t cheap! Luckily we had attended my cousins wedding earlier in the year and were very impressed by the photographer. He was friendly, fun and appeared to go out of his way to make people feel comfortable and also had a certain flair which was unique. We knew when it came to our wedding plans this was who we wanted! I immediately made contact with my cousin to find out the photographer’s details and discovered the talented person who we witnessed in action was Adam Keegan from Scene the Light Photography. We surfed the net and visited his website to find a great display of photos from other weddings and different packages that suited our budget. We were sold and immediately made contact with Adam to make further enquiries and see if he was available on our wedding date. After a very detailed conversation Adam talked about his service and how we could inform him of individual desires, angles, group photo’s and basically anything we wanted him to do on the day. He was very accommodating and made the whole process very easy. We communicated regularly via email and phone calls to make sure all was in order and payments were made. I was able to email a copy of personal requests and also asked for his professional view on the day. It was as easy as that!

The big day finally arrived and after all the planning and preparation I hoped all would run smoothly on the day. As I nervously got ready it was of great comfort to receive a text message from Adam confirming all was in motion and he was looking forward to seeing me at the time arranged.

After we arrived in the wedding cars with the bridal party Adam was there with a reassuring smile and immediately started snapping away. He took photos of all our special moments leading up to walking down the isle. The best thing was I hardly even knew he was there as he glided along taking photos without being intrusive. It was fun and relaxing as Adam gently coaxed us along and took photos of the flower girls, bridesmaids and the mother and father of the bride. As the ceremony flew by Adam took many photos of special requests and used his professional eye to capture many beautiful moments. He helped to organise all the group shots I had requested and had a creative flair when using different poses and angles so that each photo had an individual touch. I was really impressed because it wasn’t a stock standard group shot like being back at school. The bridal party photos were also unique as we buzzed about on golf buggies and to my surprise there was Adam running alongside going above and beyond to get that perfect shot, what a star! As the time that we had booked Adam was coming to an end, he was still actively snapping away. I was so happy when we received the CD less than a week later that Adam had taken photos of the table set up which had taken a lot of time and planning. On the day everyone was so busy we had totally forgotten about taking photos of that.

When we did receive our wedding package we were overwhelmed with all the beautiful shots. We are going to have a lot of trouble picking one to enlarge as there are so many to choose from. Another bonus was when Adam gave us the opportunity to appear in the newspaper which occurred a month or so later, what a lovely added surprise. Overall Adam did a fantastic job and made our wedding day extra special. It’s difficult to put into words how professional and accommodating Adam’s service is and I highly recommend him to anyone planning a wedding and in search of a photographer.
